Well I loved this movie, it was way better then I expected for a movie based on a video game. I am happy I bought it and did not rent it either, as I know I will watch this again. Also, as I am now playing the Tales of Vesperia video game on my switch I am happy I watched the movie first as the game has more depth and I understand what they are talking about, and what happened in the past. My son said the plot was like so many other movies, so he did not like it as mush as I did. But I said that is because those type of story lines work for people. I did not feel the same way. The art style is fantastic and I liked it a lot. The language was ok, a few bad words so be careful if you have younger kids or are more sensitive to bad words like our family.
Hello agian, I just started ToV and I'm about an hour or so into the game, and I just found out that there was a movie based around it. I don't want to spoil anything about the game so I'm asking here. Also, I've had Tales of Vesperia for a while and have only seen the cover and I was POSITIVE that Yuri was a girl. I swear when Yuri spoke in that really deep manly voice I was like wat. And then I started playing and became the Batman of Terca Lumireis. level 1 Its a prologue that spoils very little. This is like years before the game starts so it's up to you. There are minor spoilers like characters and such but if you've seen the cover of the game you've seen them all anyways. Cute doge too level 1 watch after. It's a prequel, but they assume you've played the game already.

There's also some inconsistencies so it may confuse you when they talk about backstory stuff that happens differently in the movie. level 1 Yuri, Zelos... Both people who I was surprised to see were male. Anyway, you should be fine watching the movie before finishing the game. It's a prequel. One more thing: remember that blastia doesn't work like that! level 1 It depends if you are playing the ps3 version or not, the 360 version has no references to the movie at all, where the ps3 version has a small cameo with the two of the movie characters, but thats for a side quest only. I think it's a good watch if you are a fan of the game. level 1 I feel like it could be watch before or after. I don't remember too many specific spoilers, there were some if you knew what to look for but other than that it stands by itself pretty well. The only spoiler it does give is about Mordio but thats not too far into the game you solve that. level 1 Yuri's voiced by Troy Baker, the guy who voices Joel from The Last of Us, and Booker DeWitt from Bioshock Infinite.
