Only he gambles away money that was owed and his friend's life is in danger for it. Then there is the murder, and he's clearly shown to murder him, but why? when? And then that's when we learn it wasn't backwards forwards, but all forwards because, spoiler. Only then they really do start going backwards and then forwards with the story. It irritated me. A little bit of that is okay for a script but flashback after flash back gets wearisome. Still, this back and forth story telling is needed to pull off it's plot which has tragedy elements woven into it too. It was creative; it kept me watching and wondering. I would recommend it, I guess with the understanding that the ending is not happy for anyone character, which is why I don't give it higher stars.
